Fernhill 2 vs Dapto 0 First Grades future was in the balance today as a must needed win would ease some pressure from the relegation zone and although they waited till the second half to consolidate the win it was a much a needed relief and a reward for the player’s efforts during a tightly contested game. Dapto with a stiff breeze behind their backs started brightly as they took advantage of wind conditions testing the Foxes keeper Bryce Daenell with some long range efforts, but Daenell was equal to the task.
These efforts came from the Foxes struggling early to put consecutive passes together, as this gave the visitors early opportunities and put unwanted pressure on the home side’s defensive line up. |

Fernhill 3 vs Dapto 3 The Foxes came up against stiff opposition in Dapto today with the visitors getting off to a fine start and as early as the 8th min a 25m shot from the Dapto attack saw them take an early lead and with a stiff breeze behind their back they continued the early pressure in the opening 10 – 15 min. The Foxes to their credit weathered the early pressure and started to swing the percentage back in their favour as the midfield of Habak and Borg started to take control by feeding the forward line of Armour, Blaas and Blayney.
However the momentum did not last for long as both sides started to struggle to put passes together up until the 28th min where a dubious penalty against the Foxes saw Dapto convert and take a 2-0 lead. The Foxes needed a reply before the break and it came courtesy Justin Blaas as his fine effort minutes later reduced the deficit to 2-1 to give the home side a much needed confidence boost. |

Fernhill 7 vs Helensburgh 2 The fox’s travelled to the “Burg” with the bare 11 players. Up against a determined thistle outfit the fox machine were relentless in attack and solid in defence. During this time Chris Rowlan was creating some fine chances with Darren solid in behind him. Jeff out wide on the left was creating havoc, with Blake working hard on the right. Michael and Peter up front were a constant menace to the thistle defence. In the early part of this game the fox machine went 2-0 up. Quality goals from Peter and Michael had the thistles struggling. Then we lost Jake, who was playing well to injury and although Rob and Chris Walker were solid, the thistles pulled one back to make the half time score 2-1 fox’s. |
